On Your First Visit
The first visit usually takes about an hour. We know your time is valuable and there will be no waiting. We will begin with a review of your medical history and then proceed to professional teeth cleaning by a skilled dental hygienist. Once your teeth are ready for examination Dr. Shahriar takes over. She will:
| • | Check your bite for proper alignment |
| • | Check for oral cancer using the state of the art Vizilite method |
| • | Scan for cavities using the cutting edge non invasive DIAGNO dent laser which will detect tooth decay at is earliest stage |
| • | Conduct any other investigation that may be necessary to determine your dental health |
| • | Brief you in simple and clear terms about your dental condition |
| • | Use an intraoral camera to show you picture of your dental condition so that you fully understand your oral health status and can make informed decisions |
The next stage is the preparation of a customized dental treatment plan designed to meet your specific requirements. If the course of treatment is extended the plan will be modified to suit your schedule and budgets. A written estimate of treatment costs will be given to you if you require it for insurance or for other purposes. We will even file your insurance claim for you. Dr. Shirin Shahriar
Dr. Shahriar received her BS from UCLA after which she completed her Honors Research Program from the same college. She was awarded a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Northwestern university and did her residency there. She followed this up with an advanced general dentistry internship and a graduate dental prosthetic program. She has published numerous articles and made presentations at international conferences.
Dr. Shahriar is a member of the ADA, MDA, AACD and a certified provider of Invisalign, IMTEC's MDI System, and Lumineers.
Dr. Shahriar built her impressive reputation by taking a no compromise attitude to dental care. Complete dental health is her goal. Every patient has his or her own time and budgetary constraints and Dr. Shahriar is dedicated to offering her patients the best possible dental care and treatments within those constraints. Her "Can Do" attitude enables her to devise effective dental treatments where others may be at a loss.
